A few little tidbits for the wise I picked up today in my going-ons. The list is a little too much like wednesday's for my tastes, but I'm going to bail on the creativity today and get some of the cleaning done now that I have procrastinated this week. So here's the highlight reel:
Dried currants taste just like plain old raisins. They just cost more, so don't bother.
Also, baby swiss and regular swiss cheeses really do taste different! The baby is more mild, but I'd bet the regular is better flavored for cooking.
The easiest way to cook large amounts of chicken (that may theoretically have been in the fridge too long and need to be cooked asap) is on the grill. 18 or so at a time, that's what I'm talking about.
Kids pee the bed early in the night. Don't forget the pull-up for even that first hour. I'm really stacking up the laundry these days.
Never try to share a rolling pin with a two year old. There's very little sharing about it. It's worse when you actually need to use it.
Old houses have horrible plumbing. Okay, maybe that one's a generalization. How about the more specific...
We will be buying a newer model on our next purchase.
Magic Erasers don't get everything off the walls, even when the paint comes off sometimes the pencil stays.
Church gymnasium floors are slippery traps for two-wheeled bikes. Don't think you don't need to bring helmets just because the activity's indoors.
Not all empanadas are fried. I learned today how to bake them.
Good grocery store roses last every bit as long as "fresh" from ProFlowers. In fact, they may last longer. Maybe it's the way I cut the stems? I'd love a good tutorial on flower care.

Loved your lists. Is Audrey really still two? For some reason I thought she was born just a couple of months after Mia. When is her B-day? Are you pottytraining Audrey for nights too? I can't remember how we did that with Leila.
Yes, Audrey's still two going on twelve until April. It surprises me sometimes, too! And no, the intent was to work on the days, but she got herself dressed in jammies tonight and I forgot to check for the under-equipment before she fell asleep. She does great for three hour naps, but can't seem to stay dry for an hour at night. ;-) Oh well!
Hey Laura, how did you get sucha cute banner on your blog? Do you have a special program? I love the new set up!
Thanks! I created the banner in photoshop - it's pretty easy, I'm sure you could make something you like, too! All you need is some kind of graphics program. I've had a hard time coming up with something I'm happy with, but I'll probably leave this one for a while. :-)
