We took the kids miniature golfing for FHE last week, thinking it was a good idea and would be lots of fun. ;-) Well, granted we did have lots of fun, but the jury's out on the good idea part still. We're just lucky we were the only ones at Trafalga that day, or it would have been much more stressful than it was! Maybe next time we'll go without Audrey, as she was only interested in a few holes and then spent a lot of time throwing the balls and the hovering near fountain. It's a miracle we didn't spend any time fishing while there! Izzie was a very focused golfer, but she had a hard time remembering which side of the club to hit with and needed a little more help than Erick did with a few holes. If you click on the picture above you can see the full-sized image and really get a feel for her ordeal. ;-) Of course she didn't complain at all, but we were all happy for her when the ball finally dropped!
Here comes the binkie diva for her turn on the green. She loved that her ball was purple, and sometimes she liked hitting it with some help, but mostly she just liked exploring the course and hitting her siblings with her club. And who could blame her on the exploration part? Being miniature and all, every "house" was just her size!
Check out that form! This kid is THE LUCKIEST golfer I have ever seen. He definitely got a helping of his father's good luck gene, because with very little idea of what he needed to do on each shot, he managed to get every shot! It was uncanny the things he hit and the lie on the ball he had every time. He had a good time and liked showing his little sisters what this game is all about.
As for Justin and I, we each got a hole in one on the first hole, but it went downhill from there. We stopped keeping score soon into the match, partly because it was depressing and partly because it was really impossible to do while helping the girls with their clubs and keeping Audrey from swimming or running down the middle of each green. Nine holes never seemed so short, or so long! We'll go again as a family eventually ... but maybe not until next year without a few more helping hands and/or a moose leash. :-)

Totally jealous that you got to hit Trafalga for FHE. I have spent so many days of my life there. My kids beg to go everytime we are in town. Such a fun event and the pictures were darling.
My girls are horrible at golfing and I often wonder why we try to keep score when they "help" us out so much.
And I'm laughing at cute Erick. It's always so fun to do well!
How fun! We took the kids mini golfing a few weeks ago and they didn't really care for it. They haven't tried bowling yet, that will be our next adventure!!!
