Happy Children... (no those are NOT forced smiles, they really are happy, darn it!)
Now, on an off note, notice the pile of twigs in front of the fireplace - those are courtesy of Erick, who is a compulsive "firewood" gatherer these days. The minute he gets home from school in the afternoon it begins. In fact, he brought home a pile of sticks he'd collected that day on the playground yesterday. These are entirely from today's outings, and I don't know where he finds it all! But he does, and we burn them and are grateful for the bounteous kindling and his desire to do a job - any job - of his own volition. He's my little man and takes good care of us!

Your house looks great! Would you believe I didn't bring any of my Christmas stuff with me here. I'm kicking myself now. Luckily our neighbors are letting us borrow some stuff.
Isn't it fun to decorate and get into the holiday season?
I seriously thought your house looked like a postcard. It looks great. And I love that Erick is collecting sticks. I wish Matt's finds would be as useful of his. I am amazed at what children can do when they set their mind on it!
Amanda- it really is fun! It's nice your neighbors are letting you borrow things. On a related note, we had a really fun day today... my mom collected a bunch of artificial trees from people in her ward and we handed them out to some of the tree-less international student families in the MBA program. It was so fun because they were so grateful! I guess most people crissing oceans take the bare minimums, but it really helped us get into the whole christmas spirit today.
Cheryl, you're so nice! We like our house, but I love love LOVE having a fireplace. It's a first for me, and we've really enjoyed it this winter. Matt finds great treasures - he sounds so creative. Kids see the whole world so differently!
Your home looks beautiful all decorated for Christmas! And I love the sticks gathered by Erick! So cute!
We should definitely get together. I'd love to see you and Justin and meet your three little cuties!
