So, I really hesitate to post pictures of my house because I don't think it's really the kind of cute homey home that should be blogged, but those who've been here might appreciate these pictures of our recent changes/updates. Meaning paint. First, this week I took one of our snow days and did the dining room. I like it MUCH better, although the green rug might have to go in the future. Don't you love my handsome model? He's pointing out one of my favorite features to this paint job. The top is the same color I have in our piano room, and the white paint on the bottom is a semigloss - I'm thrilled to be able to wipe fingerprints finally without the paint coming off with them!
This is the best "before" shot I have... it was just a flat cream color.
Then last but not least, the bathroom had a little makeover. I know there were a few fans of the green and yellow sponge paint job that was in there before, but I wasn't loving it. The biggest problem is that the room had had wallpaper in the past but someone hadn't fully rid the wall of the glue. It was chipping and cracking all over the place, so although this was the smallest room I painted it was really the most work. I had to finish removing the wallpaper border, sand all the old glue off, and then prime and paint. The other rooms really just required paint which made them ridiculously simple by comparison.
The old paint and wallpaper...
It's kind of funny looking at these pictures because in one room we definitely made it more colorful, and in one it's now much more plain. Hmph. Either way, I like both better.
So, there you go. Four more rooms down (almosts five counting the kitchen), really only Erick's bedroom left to go now. Yay!

So impressive! We need help in our bathroom. There was wallpaper and we attempted to take it off but really we're just going to have to sand the walls all the way down, put on new texture, prime, and then paint. Ugh. Wallpaper, who ever thought of the stuff?
Cheryl Lynn - Home Depot has a GREAT primer - I think it's called Zinser Bullseye? It covers all kinds of gunk and imperfections and is a real lifesaver I think. Good luck! And seriously, I think we'll live to see wallpaper really come back in style, maybe. Maybe we'll forget what a pain it is and our kids will curse us someday too?
Nice work, Laura! Your home looks great. I especially love your dining room color. It's gorgeous. It's fun to make progress on your nest, huh? I will be blogging soon about my girls room, which is nearing completion!!! And Averie is only 7 months old! :) Love ya.
Laura, you've done so much. I love everything you've done! When you're done you can come visit me;) I'd hate for you to get bored.
Everything looks so beautiful Laura. Good work! I need to come see it some time.
I love the re-do pictures, and think that they are totally blog worthy.
