Home Ownership...
So, we spent yet another weekend on our house fixing things. This time it was the garbage disposal (had to be completely dismantled, but Justin took the opportunity of installing shut-off valves, so hopefully next time we work on the sink we'll have water in the rest of the house!) and the garage door opener. Just FYI, the main gear in those things is PLASTIC. Who's brilliant idea was that one? Anyway, we're pleased to report both repairs went off smoothly and Justin finished both in one day. Lovely! Last week was the leaky shower in the master bath, so I can finish the epoxy on the floor. There's always something in this place, but at least we're moving forward! I saw this cartoon tonight and it made me chuckle.

Yay! Progress always feels good. Finishing home projects gives me the same feeling as sending packages or paying off debts. Done, and DONE. {dusting off hands}
Good to hear the house is coming together- not so good to hear the make-up of the garage door opener is plastic. That kind of freaks me out.
Your cartoon made me laugh out loud! -Erica
That cartoon is hilarious!! Sorry about all the 'stuff' that your house puts on your to do list. At least you've got the tools and know how to do it yourself, though! I'm very, very impressed.
Hey Laura!
I'm glad things are going well for you and your family. It made me laugh when I read about your gear in the garage opener being plastic. Gilman opened ours up to see what was wrong and exclaimed the same thing, "who would make a major gear out of plastic?!"
Take care!!

I miss some parts of owning a home...although after reading your post than I remembered there are parts that I don't miss. Jury is still out on which one I prefer. Hilarious cartoon - I'll have to share that one with my parents who remodeled 4 homes....I think they had many gateways to hell in each of their homes!
