Here you see one of the eagles on the ice behind the dam. It's the little black thing. I know I'm hardly a nature photographer, but there are a number of images you can find online if you haven't seen a bald eagle before. This is my only proof that we did. Believe me, the other pictures are worse. Anyway, I didn't realize the ice built up quite like this. It looked a little like a glacier field. So all in all we saw 7 bald eagles. I've been wanting to do this since we moved to Saint Louis the first time and it was nice to check it off the list this year.

Now, when I came home from Young Women's last week, guess what I found?

My super-cute husband made cookies while I was gone - Chocolate Chip with Sprinkles! And of course when I mentioned it he rattled off "because sometimes you just have to do both." And they were awesome - probably some of the best we've ever had. I know, sappy AND Martha Stewart. He's adorable.

We finally got new fish, and they are NOT goldfish. Don't let anyone tell you goldfish are hardy, because they're lying to you. If you choose to get fish ever in the future go tropical. These are little guppies and they're lively and fun to watch, and they're still ALIVE. That's important. It's also important to note they're all male. No more little babies swimming around waiting to become fish food. I just can't handle it. I know, some people would call it cruel, but the fish don't seem to mind. We'll pretend they're monks.

Oh, and in bigger news, guess who's walking??? Matt's officially a toddler. Man, that goes fast. But I love that everyone's carseats are forward facing, and that my older three can get themselves in, buckled, and out on their own. That's also a precious milestone. *sniff*

I have to be honest...I'm happy, but kind of sad because I wish so badly that Andrew was walking. Rob was just commenting on how he doesn't even know Matt. It'll be great to see you guys in June. We haven't seen you guys for so long. About 2 years come June!!

Yeah Matt! I love the fish. Mia can not wait for us to finally get a house because she wants a turtle and fish. Good tip about the goldfish. I never could keep one alive back in college either.
