My new favorite Christmas song...

Thanks Cheryl!!! Sorry we missed each other when you were in town... the song really does say it all! Okay, and yes, I know it's January. Indulge me this last holiday post and maybe a few pictures sometime in the future before I try to move on from the madness. For the first time I can relate to that other song... you know, the one that says something about how "mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again"? Yes I love my kids, but I am so there. :-)

So, as fun as that song is to think about, it's not my new favorite. I think this one from Amy Grant's new album is fantastic, and although it's January I've listened to it a few times today already. The link below is to the itunes store, where you can sample a few seconds of it, and some of the lyrics are listed below that.

"December comes then disappears
Faster and faster every year
Did my own mother keep this pace
Or was the world a different place?

"Where people stayed home wishing for snow
Watching three channels on their TV
Look at us now rushing around
Trying to buy Christmas peace

"I need a silent night, a holy night
To hear an angel voice through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear,a little peace right here
To end this crazy day with a silent night."

What a surprise to find my name on a post. You are too cute. My mom called and told me to download the song for her (her iTunes has issues) and I too fell in love instantly. I think I need a silent night every night, not just at Christmas.

I, too, am sitting here wishing we could have seen you. Dang it. Too many things squished in my week. The showers for your family were on Rich's sister's wedding day. Then New Year's Eve was, well, a disater. Just seconds before Dave came over to invite us out for fireworks, Matt threw up over the entire, yes- no lie- entire family room and bathroom. I didn't know a child his size could have that much food inside. 35 min. later (our Tripoley game on pause) we had the mess cleaned up only to have Trey and later Josh throw up (thankfully in the toilet).

I ran over to your parents home on the 2nd to say hello, but they were not home. We were on our way to Jackson's to finish packing up.

And when we came to church in Salem on Sunday, your parents were not there.

The fates were not playing in my favor it seems.

I would have loved to see your new sweet baby and darling kids and visit with you all. You have to know you are one of my very, very favorite families ever.

So know I am missing you and hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years.

Love, Cheryl

Amen, sister! I could use a silent night...every night. I lose track of how many times I'm up with Anders after about 4 or 5...

How are things going with the move/house hunting??? I can't wait to hear!!
