And here are two pictures I took this afternoon - you see the porch is certainly a different color, and it's rather gritty and sandy-feeling now, which I love, but it's not a huge visual change and you might not even notice the difference. Okay, so you may be more likely to notice Izzie's rock collection in May was replaced by the kids' pumpkins in October, and I personally think of that as a trade-up as well. You might also notice we lost a couple of bushes over the summer while we were in Saint Louis. Oh well. But seriously, the porch paint is rather unremarkable itself.
But for those who are disappointed because they had hoped to see something really different, let's take another look at what the house looked like when we bought it in August 2007, just over a year ago when I thought I could have just submitted it to some kind of DIY landscaping show:
Overall, I think we've done a pretty good job! I should have a prize for the person who can identify the greatest number of changes, but here's a hint - there are at least 10, and that's not ten different bushes pulled.

I think the porch looks great! I love the color as I always thought the gray looked so bluish that it clashed. The new color looks great and I LOVE the pumpkins.
WOW! The house looks so great. I can totally tell a difference. I love the new door, paint, missing old screen door, house number and mailbox. I am sure there are many more things you did, but those are the things I noticed right off the bat.
Good work. It is so great to get those big projects crossed off the list!
