Today was Erick's un-birthday today at school, so we packed up the entire family and headed to kindergarten to celebrate. I read a story from the Little Critters book he got from Great-grandma Swenson when he was born, and then we passed out cupcakes to the class. I offered to do pizza, or cookies, or popsicles, or any number of different things, but cupcakes was all he heard, I guess. ;-)
The birthday boy with his crown, birthday bar and new book from his teacher!
Mmmmmm.... cupcakes....
Here's a shot of the carpool gang - Markus, Aiden and Erick. They're a wild crew!
And this evening, apparently, Izzie's setting up a regular birthday banquet in the front room. The shopping cart loads just keep coming and coming... Happy un-Birthday, Erick!

First of all I have to say I love the look of your Blog Title, and I love the quote. That was one of my favorite talks from this past conference. In fact, I gave a talk on it in Church right afterwards. I think it's a perfect quote for a blog.
How fun to have the whole family at the school for his birthday celebration. I bet that meant a lot to him.
Did you make the cupcakes? When I taught school we had to ask the mothers to bring something store bought. Isn't it sad that we have to do that for safety reasons? We didn't have to worry about it here in England for Kimball's birthday. They said we could make anything, but it couldn't be sweets. I guess their school has become a "healthy" school, so no chocolate and no sweets. And no fun apparently! Just kidding. We ended up taking some yummy crackers. I think the kids were fine with it.
Thanks Amanda - I loved the talk, too, but it wasn't until recently I opened it back up to read, and was amazed all over again at everything said. That's great you gave a talk on it, I bet it gave you great study time with it!
About the cupcakes... no, we weren't allowed to take anything homemade to school - and it is HARD to find decent store-bought cupcakes! I kept thinking with every one that I could have done a better job, or they would have looked fresher, or something. Oh well. At least it's almost valentine's day, so there were a number of pink and red ones everywhere.
I think the healthy way isn't such a bad idea, honestly, and if I wouldn't have been the only bad mom in the eyes of the kids I might have thought harder about it. Especially since Erick has TWENTY SEVEN kids in his class! That means more than a month of sweets right before he comes home for lunch. (very un-hungry, I might add) Oh well, they're kids, and it's a birthday. :-)
I love your blog title too!! You need to teach me how to make my blog the whole page too. You are so good at this stuff. Anyway, I can't believe how big your kids are. So cute. Erick is such a good looking boy.
