Lake Powell

A perennial family favorite, I hadn't made the Swenson trip to Lake Powell for years! The kids and I left Justin this past weekend for a few days to study in peace while we played in the Arizona sunshine. Admittedly, some days were warmer than others, but we found enough to do every day it didn't really matter, and the kids kept us really laughing! As we were returning from Rainbow Bridge, we made a beeline for Dangling Rope for icecream. My dad told the kids they could get vanilla, chocolate, or swirl icecream, and Erick immediately (and a little too excitedly) said "I'll take squirrel!" Later, after the icecream shop was determined closed for the season, we appeased the disappointed children with mini 3 musketeers bars. However, the chocolate had been in the window of the boat, and well, you know the story. After about ten minutes on ice they were manoeuverable, and Erick scarfed one down quickly. It was really funny then, when he told us all how "un-sticky" they were now, with chocolate covering his face, hands, and for some reason his arms! It was a fun trip!
