Control Issues...

Hey everyone, I need to tell you about a new author I'm actively promoting these days - My cousin! She's written a book and entered it into an Amazon writing competition. From a field of 10,000 applicants she was chosen as a quarter finalist, and judging by her rank on Amazon right now will do really well going forward. If you have a second, download the free chapter from her book, give it a read, and leave her some great comments if you like it! Here's the email she sent out to all of us, I have to print it here because I think it's so dang cute. And because it holds the link to her book. And I guess because it's a writing sample that may be worth something someday. ;-)  She lives in Utah county, too, so let's cheer her on!

Hi Everyone,

Okay, I'm actually terrified to tell you this, because then some of you will actually read something I've written. (In case some of you didn't know, I've written a book. Like a whole book.) I entered the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest at the beginning of February.

Well...out of 10,000 applicants, the field has been narrowed to 500 quarter finalists...and I'm one of them!!!!! You can read my excerpt of my young adult dystopian science fiction novel by clicking here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001UG3BNG You have to click on Download for Free over on the right side. It's free. You can read it, and leave a review (I think). I get two crits from someone (I can't remember who right now. I'm having a hard time remembering my own name right now.) and on the amazon site there are two editorial reviews. I'm shaking. They liked it!! Seriously, I think I might cry. But right now I have to go to work.

Elana
