Snake Update
So, we haven't seen any snakes for a day or so now, and although I don't know that she didin't just grow out of the phase that quickly, we did spend an hour or so before bed the other night talking about all the things we could do with snakes. In a collaborative effort as a family we suggested she try using the snakes as a jumprope, as a lasso, as the string to her bow and arrow, as a whip, or possibly as a decoration in the spokes of her bike wheel. We discussed how best to cook a snake, musing the peculiarities that may be involved in roasting the beast on a stick over an open flame. We told some snake jokes and reminded her how grandpa likes to catch snakes at his house in his lawnmower, then finally asked her if she thought snakes would like living at our house. She said no, and the nightmares have stopped for now. And it was a fun exercise, to boot. We'll have to see if she looks more carefully at the casseroles and soups we periodically make for dinner, however. As if she eats anything anyway. ;-)

Hey Laura! Good to see that you're doing well! Cute kids.
That's a good way of coping with nightmares. Hopefully it worked permanently.
Wait, who's she, Izzy or Audrey? Love the creative parenting!
