I don't know what it is about Fall, but everyone seems to get the craft bug this time of year. Maybe it's the kids going back to school, maybe it's just the business of summer settling away into the hominess of the cooler seasons, and women seem to nest just a little. Maybe all you do is rearrange your fireplace mantle, but I'd dare suggest most people find themselves inexplicably doing somethig different, or maybe even browsing the Michael's ads. I cite the multiplicity of "Craft Nights" and "Super Saturdays" going on around the world in relief societies everywhere as evidence of the appeal. Anyway, I've enjoyed seeing what everyone else is up to on their blogs and am going to need directions to a few of the cute things I've seen. (In fact, a shout-out to Kim - I really need to figure out how to make those corkscrew-ribbon bows for little girls on your site... it would save me a fortune in "buy one get one free" items at Gymboree!!!)
Here's my contribution this year to the effort. Nothing huge, but kind of fun. The other day sitting in the doctor's office I came across this idea from "Family Fun." I bought white t-shirts, tye-dyed them orange in a pot on my kitchen stove with rubber bands to create the white circles, then drew in the pumpkin faces with black fabric paint pens. Super easy, and they turned out great!
The ghosts you can see in the window behind them are Izzie's ongoing halloween effort. Every day she draws and cuts out a few more and hangs them up all by herself - I think they're really cute. :-)

I love those shirts! The faces are so cute! I'll have to see if we have time for that this year.
Super, super cute!
Cute shirts! A neighbor just did the same thing with her daughters the other day. I don't think I'm brave enough to try tie-dye with mine yet, but maybe in a couple years when everything we do isn't turning into a dissaster.
