What we've been up to...

Izzie's final gymnastics "performance" was this week - they call it their Spring Spectacular and they allow the parents to come into the gym and follow the kids around with cameras while each child does a little routine one at a time. It was so fun, and Izzie did a fantastic job! She did bars, beam, tumbling, trampoline and some rhythm stuff with ribbons and the parachute. Her favorite part? The trophy she got at the end! Her first trophy... it's really a treasure at our house, and she just glows when she talks about it. :-)

Later in the day, we met some friends at a local park for dinner and some time on the playground. It was really nice to get outside and enjoy the weather, as it was just beginning to cool off before today's storm blew in. The kids loved exploring the marsh preserve, but I won't forget mosquito repellant again! We made it through this time, but there were plenty of the nasty little things and we hurried through the wet spots.

Finally, we walked to school this morning in the pouring rain, thanks to the girls' new umbrellas. It was COLD, and the kids were fine when I picked them up in the car later in the day, but they were all really excited to see the bleak wetness this morning. We were all soaked, umbrellas and all, except for Audrey because her stroller has a fabulous rain cover she loves. I almost became something out of a tv commercial when a car flew by and the tidal wave thrown by its wheels narrowly missed me! But again, they thought it was fun, and although they walked slowly and were rather late, it was worth it.

This afternoon we hibernated because of the cold, choosing to color and make cookies. It was a nice down day. While it's hard being separated as a family right now, I feel as though I actually got the better end of the deal, being surrounded by my kiddies. I love them and love spending time with them! They occupy my days and I am so grateful for them and their fun personalities!
