Happy Fourth!

We are really spending a lot of time in beautiful Scofield at the cabin these days, it seems, and it's been so nice! I forget each time we're getting ready to go just how much fun we have when we're there, and how much I really like the place. It's so fun to go and stay overnight at the cabin with all the modern conveniences, but to be able to walk 40 feet to the water and back to the dock. Just as a footnote, we laughingly call this place a cabin, when in actuality it's a double-wide with an incredible location and view. ;-) We went up yesterday morning with our neighbors, the Nances, and spent the day split between the shade on the porch and the shade on the boat. Well, I did anyway. My little sun worshipping children and husband may remember things differently! Those "little Nance boys" have all grown up so fast, and it was fun to have someone around really excited about grandpa's new wake-skate.

Afterward, we headed to Finlinsons for a holiday barbecue and get-together, which was made extra special because Ruth and Raymond were in town with their cute kiddies. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and even when the fireworks seemed a little too close for comfort it added to the thrills of the evening. The kids did really well, and we have loved being close to their cousins this summer.
Audrey oohs and ahhs the fireworks. :-)
